Obsidian Minerals & Metals Exchange Bank (OMME)

OMME is the world’s first minerals and metals bank, supporting local miners in Africa and working with local governments to provide education and employment opportunities.

Through OMME and the Group’s wider international relationships, we are involved in the trade of minerals, metals and precious gemstones from Africa to international markets. Our activities include diamonds and other precious and semi-precious gemstones, with particular expertise in Tanzanite, one of Tanzania’s most distinctive and internationally recognised natural resources.

Tanzanite and copper are particular areas of focus for the Group. Our presence in Tanzania gives us direct knowledge of the local commercial environment and established relationships within the region. We work with producers, miners, buyers and other participants in the supply chain to identify suitable opportunities and facilitate transactions for international markets.

Alongside these specialist areas, we consider opportunities involving other minerals, metals and gemstones where they fall within our experience, relationships and ability to participate effectively.
